How to Spot a Narcissist (Part 1 of 3)

After delivering a recent keynote speech, an audience member approached me and said, “Thank you for sharing your research on how to influence a narcissist! I have one in my life!”

Which reminded me that I haven’t posted about narcissism for a while, even though I spend a great deal of time advising senior leaders on how to influence their most problematic stakeholders.

I’m guessing that YOU have a narcissist in your life, too, right? Perhaps they’re entwined in your professional life, your personal life, or both.

I’ll spend the next few posts helping you sort out whether you’re dealing with a actual narcissist, how to manage their disruptive, disturbing interactions, and how to successfully change their oh-so-stubborn minds.

I’ve started here with three tell-tale clues to identify a potential narcissist. There are plenty more, of course, which I’ll share in the posts ahead. (I wrote an entire chapter about them in my book “The Real Deal.”)

Please consider sharing your thoughts and experiences here so that others can benefit from your hard-earned wisdom!
